    South Mumbai saw severe traffic snarls as a sea of people gathered at Marine Drive for the Indian cricket team’s victory parade. Trains to Churchgate and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus were packed. Roads echoed with patriotic chants from Tricolour-waving fans in blue jerseys, despite intermittent rains. Security personnel, with megaphones, guided crowds. Marine Drive was full by evening, causing gridlock in southern Mumbai, with vehicles bumper to bumper. Motorists faced long delays. Civic-run BEST buses were halted due to parking and overcrowding, affecting ten routes. The Marine Lines to Chowpatty journey took hours. The parade’s significance led to massive disruptions.

    Victory parade of Indian cricket team: Extra security at railway stations

    Extra security has been increased at Churchgate and other local railway stations for India's T20 cricket team's victory parade in south Mumbai, coinciding with the evening rush hour. Western Railway has deployed more staff for crowd management, with additional ticket checking and UTS windows operational till midnight. Crowds have started gathering since afternoon to witness the parade from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium.
