    LS Speaker amends rules, members can't raise slogans during oath

Effective from June 28, the amendment specifies that members must not add any words or expressions as prefixes or suffixes to the oath, as outlined in the Third Schedule to the Constitution of India. This action follows concerns raised by the Speaker regarding MPs deviating from the required text during oath-taking, including instances where slogans like "Jai Samvidhan," "Jai Hindu Rashtra," and "Jai Palestine" were raised.

The Central Vista project is renovating the entire parliament building to create a more interconnected complex, overseen by the CPWD. Newly elected MPs will register at the Parliament House Annexe, with arrangements for transit accommodation at Western Court and state Bhavans. Residences for MPs will be allocated using an automated mechanism.
