    32 illegal Myanmar immigrants arrested from Manipur’s Moreh

    Following the shooting of a police officer in Moreh, Manipur's border town, a joint security team conducted an operation leading to the arrest of 32 illegal Myanmar immigrants. Ten of them were flown to Imphal for further questioning, while the remaining 22 were detained at the Moreh police station.

    Manipur govt deputes specialist doctors and other health workers at Foreigners Detention Centre

    The Manipur government has taken action to address concerns raised by the Manipur Human Rights Commission (MHRC) regarding the health care facilities at the Foreigners Detention Centre in Sajiwa. The MHRC chairperson expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of specialist doctors, particularly a gynaecologist, at the centre.

    Manipur situation is returning to normalcy, says CM N Biren Singh

    Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has stated that the situation in the state is returning to normalcy. The government has started providing prefabricated homes to those affected by ethnic strife. Singh expressed gratitude to civil society organizations, churches, and women's groups for their support in restoring normalcy. He inaugurated temporary shelter homes for displaced families and emphasized that rehabilitation is a top priority. The government plans to construct permanent houses in the future. Singh also mentioned various welfare schemes that have improved the standard of living in Manipur.

    Manipur government to start handing over pre fabricated houses to violence affected people from Wednesday onwards

    Around 50,650 men, women and children of different communities were displaced in the violence and are now sheltered in 350 camps, set up in schools, government buildings and auditoriums. Around 12000 people have taken shelter in Mizoram.
