Maharashtra rain: Yellow alert issued in Thane, Mumbai; orange alert in Raigad, Ratnagiri
The Regional Meteorological Department of Mumbai has issued alerts for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in several areas of Maharashtra. Thane and Mumbai are under a yellow warning, while Raigad and Ratnagiri are under an orange alert for the next five days. Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, and Satara are also under an orange alert. Other areas like Nasik, Jalgaon, Amravati, and Bhandara have been issued a yellow alert. Due to heavy rains, the Fire Brigade Department in Thane responded to several rescue calls, including incidents of tree falls, wall collapses, and injuries to children at a football ground.

Four killed, 18 injured as truck rams into bus in Pune

Maharashtra records 660 COVID-19 cases, two deaths
State capital Mumbai recorded 266 fresh cases. Satara and Nagpur recorded one fatality each. The case fatality rate in the state is 1.82 per cent. With 539 patients recovering, the total of recoveries in the state rose to 80,00,665. Maharashtra's recovery rate is 98.11 per cent.
