Gujarat Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 highlights: BJP bags 25 in Guj but misses clean sweep hat-trick as Congress wins 1

Gujarat Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 highlights: The Election Commission of India announced the results of the Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday evening, revealing that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged victorious in 25 constituencies. The Indian National Congress managed to secure just one seat.

Gujarat, known as a stronghold of the BJP, showcased the party's substantial influence once again.

Despite facing electoral setbacks in various parts of the country, Gujarat remained steadfast in its support for its native leader, Narendra Modi. The BJP clinched 25 out of 26 Lok Sabha seats in the state. However, the opposition saw a glimmer of success as Congress's Geniben Thakor won the Banaskantha seat, ending the BJP's decade-long hold on the constituency. This single defeat prevented the BJP from achieving a hat trick of clean sweeps in Gujarat. Notably, the BJP had already secured the Surat seat before the votes were even counted, with Mukesh Dalal declared the uncontested winner during the nomination process.

In the 2019 elections, the BJP achieved an impressive clean sweep by winning all 26 seats for the second consecutive time. This overwhelming victory underscored the party's steadfast support base and reinforced its political dominance in Gujarat.
