Humsafar, a play written by Javed Siddiqui and directed by Salim Arif, was staged over the weekend at the Iftekhar Samman Samaroh at Bharat Bhavan.
With fantastic acting by Harsh Chhaya and Lubna Salim, the play revolved around the life of a couple, who decide to part ways after 15 years after their marriage and start a new life. Said Salim, “Today we are so running after attaining success that we forget family, love and relations.This is exactly what the play is all about.” The set design for the play was done by Faraz, Salim and Lubna’s son.
Prior to the play, a felicitation was organised, where Salim Arif was honoured with the Habib Tanvir Kala Sadhna Samman while TV actress Divyanka Tripathi was honoured with the Javed Zaidi Shaan-e-Bhopal award and Farhan Ansari was honoured with the Dr Shafkat Mohammad Khan Shan-e-Bhopal award. The awardees were presented the awards by Gulzar sahab.
