Staffer hangs self at Haridwar collectorate

HARIDWAR: A 22-year-old government employee, Kamal Kumar (22), was found dead by hanging inside a room at the district headquarters in the Roshnabad area of Haridwar. A suicide note, in which he claimed responsibility for the act, was recovered from the scene.
However, Kamal's family members have raised suspicions of foul play, alleging that Kamal was murdered and putting the blame on his colleague.Police have confirmed that a case is being registered under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
"Kamal's body was found inside his workplace, and he had taken his own life, as indicated in the suicide note. We have conducted a postmortem and launched an investigation. However, his family alleges foul play, and we are filing a case under Section 302 based on their complaint," SHO SIDCUL Naresh Rathore told TOI.
