HYDERABAD: Ahead of Secunderabad Cantonment Board polls, chief executive officer B Ajith Reddy has been transferred to Bengaluru.
He will join there as an additional defence estates officer.
He took charge as SCB CEO on July 1, 2020, and was supposed to continue in the same post for up to three years (2023).
D Madhukar Naik, who was working on a deputation basis with the director general defence estates (DGDE), will be the next SCB CEO.
Vibha Sharma, additional director general (Admin) under ‘Ministry of Defence’ (MoD) on Monday, issued transfer orders to Ajith Reddy, and also reshuffled other 13 defence officials across the country.
Ajith Reddy’s sudden transfer, without completing tenure became a hot topic among the bureaucrats of the Telangana government, as the process of excision of civil areas of Cantonments merging with neighbouring civic bodies/state municipalities, is in full swing.
In fact, the outgoing SCB CEO, Ajith Reddy also submitted his report on the excision of SCB civil areas into GHMC, to the Telangana government, a couple of months ago.
