Arunachal East constitutes one of the two Lok Sabha constituencies in Arunachal Pradesh's northeastern region, spanning across Upper Siang, East Siang, Dibang Valley, Lower Dibang Valley, Lohit, Anjaw, Changlang, and Tirap districts. This constituency holds sway over 312,704 voters, comprising 126,888 male and 128,574 female voters. Among the state's 60 assembly seats, 27 fall within the Arunachal East parliamentary constituency. The contest this time is between Bosiram Siram of Congress and Tapir Gao of Bjp who is looking forward to winning in his second term.
In a March 26 circular, the ACF, or Arunachal Christian Forum outlined six issues supporting its “ongoing democratic movement against the current regime.” In another circular issued on April 3, the ACF urged all its member and denominational organizations to support and work for the two Congress candidates. With Christians making up over 30.26% of the state's population, the BJP is concerned about the potential polarization of Christian votes in favor of the Congress. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, experienced BJP leader Tapir Gao achieved victory by defeating Congress candidate Jam Lochanacha Wanglet, securing 153,883 votes. The 2014 mandate saw Ninong Ering of the Congress emerging triumphant, defeating BJP candidate Tapir Gao by 12,478 votes.
