PALAKKAD: Students of Sreekrishnapuram government engineering college had to go on a strike and take out a demonstration on the college campus as hundreds of stray dogs were invading the classrooms.
A first-year student, who joined the college on Wednesday, was bitten by a stray dog after it entered the classroom on Thursday, provoking the student to go on strike demanding to end the stray dog menace.

Many students and college staff were bitten by stray dogs earlier also. Students are afraid to come to the campus and go to their classrooms as they have to pass through groups of violent stray dogs.
Students have also planned a march to the Sreekrishnapuram grama panchayat office on Friday, demanding the local body take steps to end the stray dog attacks on students.
The students said they had taken up the matter with the principal and the district administration one and a half months ago. But no steps have been taken so far.
