FIR in constable recruitment paper leak case; protest staged

An FIR has been lodged in the UP police constable recruitment examination paper leak case. Candidates protested demanding re-examination due to a leaked question paper. UP police recruitment board formed an internal committee to investigate the allegations. Candidates submitted complaints online.

LUCKNOW : Lucknow police lodged an FIR in the UP police constable recruitment examination paper leak case on Friday. Lucknow's Krishnanagar SHO Kailash Dubey said that an FIR has been registered and a probe is being conducted.
Meanwhile, hundreds of candidates who had appeared for the UP police constable recruitment exam 2024 gathered at Eco Garden, Lucknow, on Friday and staged a massive protest demanding re-examination.They claimed the sanctity of the exam was compromised with a question paper going viral on social media hours before the start of the exam.
The recruitment exam was held on Feb 17-18 and was marred with allegations of a paper leak on social media. Candidates alleged that the paper was available at a price between Rs 50,000 and Rs 2 lakh. They claimed that many of the candidates had it 8-12 hours before the commencement of the exam.
On Monday, UP police recruitment and promotion board had constituted an internal committee to probe the allegations of paper leak and viral question papers and answer sheets on social media.
Recruitment board chairperson Renuka Mishra had said that the board has constituted an internal committee in view of the problems being reported by the candidates on social media. She said that investigation will be done regarding the viral question paper and answer sheet.
Mishra said the recruitment board had sought representations regarding the complaints of the candidates till 6pm on Friday. The complaints have been submitted online.
