MADHUBANI: Independent candidate Ambika Gulab Yadav won the Bihar legislative council polls from Madhubani seat with 2748 votes on Thursday.
Of the total five contestants in the fray, wife of former RJD MLA Gulab Yadav, Ambika secured 2748 votes, followed by BJP
MLC Suman Kumar Mahaseth 1834 votes. By securing only 1433 votes, RJD’s
Meraj Alam could occupy the third slot while NDA candidate and ex-MLC Vinod Singh was pushed to the fourth position, who got only 749 votes.
Congress candidate
Subodh Mandal and an independent
Kamal Kumar Bhandari received only 768 and 924 votes, respectively.
Ambika preferred to contest the election as an independent candidate after RJD denied her party nomination.
