NEW DELHI: BJP candidate Ashok Kumar Yadav won Madhubani Lok Sabha constituency by a margin of 151945 votes.
The Madhubani constituency is one of the 40 parliamentary seats in the state of Bihar, falling under the general category and boasting a literacy rate of 47.4%. The Madhubani constituency went to the polls on May 20 in the phase 5 of the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
For this constituency, the notable contenders are Md Ali Asharaf Fatmi from the Rashtriya Janata Dal, Ashok Kumar Yadav from the Bharatiya Janata Party, and Bikash Kumar from the Bahujan Samaj Party.

The runner-up was Badri Kumar Purbey of the Vikassheel Insaan Party, securing 140,705 votes, accounting for 14.6% of the votes.
In the 2014 general elections, Hukm Deo Narayan Yadav, of the Bharatiya Janata Party, secured victory with 357,989 votes, capturing 42.5% of the votes. Abdul Bari Siddiqui of the Rashtriya Janata Dal was the runner-up with 337,459 votes, securing 40.1% of the votes.
According to the 2011 Census, the rural population dominates the voter list, constituting around 96.6% of the electorate, in contrast to urban voters, who make up around 3.4%. During the 2019 Parliamentary Election, Madhubani witnessed a voter turnout of 53.6%.
