Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate and dedicate new buildings of premier academic institutions in Bihar including IIT-Patna, IIM-Bodh Gaya, Central University of South Bihar, and IIIT-Bhagalpur. He will also lay the foundation stone for the academic blocks of Central University of South Bihar.

PATNA: Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate, dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone for new buildings/blocks of as many as four premier academic institutions in Bihar through virtual mode at 11.30am on Tuesday.
The PM will dedicate to the nation as many as 24 new academic and residential buildings of IIT-Patna (IIT-P) constructed under Phase II at an estimated cost of Rs 466 crore.The facilities created in approximately 1.08 lakh square kilometres area include a central library, auditorium, central lecture hall and academic buildings, students’ activity centre, guesthouse, hostels and residential quarters for teachers and employees.
IIT-P director T N Singh said established in 2008, the campus of IIT-P was inaugurated by the PM himself on July 25, 2015. Chief minister Nitish Kumar and several other ministers are likely to be present at IIT-P on the occasion.
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to inaugurate the newly constructed permanent campus of Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Bodh Gaya in the presence of deputy chief minister Samrat Chaudhary. Established in 2015, the instruction has so far been functioning from a make-shift campus at Bodh Gaya. But, now a full-fledged campus has been developed in an area of 60,378 square metres at an estimated cost of Rs 411 crore.
The new campus would have now state-of-the-art classrooms, a modern library, a sports complex with a modern gymnasium, hostels, quarters for academics and staff and a health centre.
Modi will lay the foundation stone for as many as four academic blocks of the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) to be constructed on its campus at Gaya. “The buildings to be constructed for Rs 100 crore, under the third phase of campus development, include a school of law and governance, school of physical and chemical sciences, school of business studies and management and school of health sciences,” vice-chancellor K N Singh said.

The university, which has been accredited with an A++ grade by the NAAC, has already constructed several magnificent buildings on its 300-acre campus in Phase I and II.
The PM will also dedicate to the nation the newly constructed building of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT)-Bhagalpur through video conferencing. Established in 2017, the has developed its sprawling campus of 25,000 square metres at an estimated cost of Rs 128 crore.
The new campus consists of a G+2 academic block, a G+2 administrative block, a G+5 boys’ hostel, a G+1 girls’ hostel, G+8 block for teachers’ quarters, besides other facilities for students and staff of the institute. Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha, chairman of the board of governors of IIIT-Bhagalpur Ashok Khade and local MP Ajay Mandal will attend the function in Bhagalpur on Tuesday, said the academic dean of the institute.
