Varanasi: An ex-gratia amount of Rs 15 lakh was transferred to the bank accounts of the families of Home Guards— Veerpal and Satish Kumar and polling officers Triloki Nath and Abdullah Ansari, each, who had lost their lives while on duty during the LS elections-2024. Following their deaths, district election officer/DM S Rajalingam had forwarded a recommendation to the Election Commission of India for giving ex-gratia, which was approved and allocated by the ECI to pay to the dependents of the deceased. tnn
