Russell Crowe loses his dog Louis the Papillion after the dog was hit by a truck; posts touching tribute to him on social media

Russell Crowe, the star of Gladiator took to twitter early this morning to post the following heartfelt words about losing his dog, Louis the Papillion. “This is Louis the Papillion. 16 months old. Tiny, cheeky, brave. He won my heart. Unfortunately today, on the second anniversary of my father’s passing, Louis was hit by a truck. We tried to get him to the vet, but he died in my arms while I was telling him how much we loved him.”The touching tribute posted with a photo of his favourite pooch already has thousands of likes and comments.This is not the first time that Crowe has shared photos of Louis the Papillion on his social media pages. A twitter user, Alicia Rancilio replied to this news with the words, “I am so sorry! What a beautiful face and those eyes. I like to think our pets wait for us to join them one day, loyal as ever.”
Earlier, in December, the star had posted a picture of his dog twinning with him in matching Ralph Lauren polo shirts. He had tweeted back then: "I’m not at all a fan of dressing dogs up, but a friend bought little Louis a @RalphLauren polo so he can match with dad.”
Guess, the date March 30 will remain etched in Russell Crowe’s mind forever – two years ago, he lost his father on the same day.
