Of late, a film hitting the cinema screens mean a lot more than just Friday jitters for both the makers as well as the cast. While cinema halls have been open for a while now, post the relaxation of Covid-related restrictions, we are yet to see the crowd head back in there for the movie watching experience that they have missed out. So is the case with
Kannada actor
Yogi, who has his film
Lanke, all set to hit the screens this Friday.
“Lanke has me both excited and nervous. Excited because I am going to have a film out in the theatres after a gap of three years. And nervous because we are still in the midst of a pandemic. With only 50% occupancy allowed at the halls still, it will probably take a longer time for the makers to recover investment costs,” explains Yogi, who is currently busy working round the clock on quite a few projects.
Equipped with an ensemble cast, Yogi tells us, “This is an out and out commercial entertainer. It has all that one expects from such films - the fights, the songs and the emotional scenes. Personally, it is my return to this genre of filmmaking of sorts, as I have been focusing on off-beat, non-commercial films for a while. However, it is the fact that the story is woven around a real incident had me hooked.”
