Guess the wait is over for actor Maqbool Salmaan. The two-movie old actor has grabbed an offer to don one of the lead roles in Matinee, the directorial debut of fashion photographer Aneesh Upasana.
Talking about his role, he says, "My character, Majeed, is an ordinary, down-to-earth person." As the cast is yet to be settled, the actor refuses to reveal much about his character.
However, he says he would be sharing the screen with Mythili.
Interestingly, Matinee is being produced by the same production house that had delivered Sreenath Rajendran's Dulquer Salmaan starrer Second Show. The movie is based on a real life incident, and revolves around the characters portrayed by Maqbool and Mythili. While Anil Narayan has scripted the movie, Ratheesh Vega will score its background music. The shoot is slated to start rolling by September 5 in Kochi, Palakkad and Chennai.
Meanwhile, Maqbool is also gearing up for three other projects - Hashim Marikkar's Preview, where he is an engineering student, K N Sasidharan's Nayana, alongside Anupam Kher, and an untitled project, directed by debut director Kareem, wherein he would be essaying the role of a social worker, who gets entrapped in a crime.
