And even after quitting cinema, there are a few stars who are remembered forever by fans for their performances.

In the latest episode of #UnforgettableOnes, let's take a look at actress Devayani's acting career.
The Mumbai-born actress Devayani started her cinema career in the Bengali cinema, and then acted in Malayalam and Hindi films. After two years, the talented actress debuted in Tamil with the 1995 film 'Thotta Chinungi' alongside Karthik, Raghuvaran, and Revathi. Devayani shot to fame with her third Tamil film 'Kadhal Kottai' opposite Ajith, and the romantic drama bagged her the Tamil Nadu State Award for best actress.

Devayani then started concentrating more on Tamil films and delivered back-to-back successful films. She has worked with different generations of actors and also took up several challenging roles.
The late 90s and early 2000s were the golden years for Devayani as she delivered over 50 films, and most of them were blockbusters.
Devayani fell in love with director Rajakumaran, while working with him. As the families of both didn't accept their love, the couple eloped and married privately in 2001. She continued working for the next two years, and opted to concentrate on family.
The talented actress is currently working as a teacher in a private school. She is also trained Silambam artists and is a teacher of the same. Meanwhile, Devayani also appears in cameo roles in films, occasionally, to cheer her fans.
