‘Prati Roju Pandaage’ producer gifts director Maruthi a swanky new car

Sai Dharam Tej must certainly be a happy man these days. After heaving a huge sigh of relief with Chitralahari, the 33-year-old actor has scored a monstrous success with his latest outing Prati Roju Pandaage. Starring Raashi Khanna as the leading lady, the Maruthi directorial featured an extremely talented supporting cast like Sathyaraj and Rao Ramesh in pivotal roles.
Overwhelmed with the big numbers, the co-producer of the film Vamsi Krishna Reddy has gifted director Maruthi a swanky car which is worth over a crore.After the failure of Shailaja Reddy Alludu, the 38-year-old filmmaker also bounced back into form with PRP. While the total theatrical rights of the film are valued at Rs 18 crore, the distributors are laughing all the way to the bank with the profits.
Despite bagging mixed reviews upon release, the family entertainer has struck the right chord with the Telugu audience owing to its comedy quotient. With no new releases till Sankranthi, viewers are thronging into the theatres to have a good laugh and after two weeks, Prati Roju Pandaage has recorded a worldwide gross of over Rs 50 crores. It also crossed the half million dollar mark in the United States, the first film of SDT to do so.
