Vijay Deverakonda's fans think this deleted scene from Arjun Reddy is better than Liger

On the fifth anniversary of Arjun Reddy’s release, Sandeep Reddy Vanga released a deleted scene from the film.
The 2-minute-52-seconds long scene sees Vijay Deverakonda and Rahul Ramakrishna’s characters Arjun and Shiva talking to each other. Seemingly taking place after Arjun is caught kissing Preethi, played by Shalini Pandey, by her father, the lead character tries to reason why it shouldn’t be blown out of proportion.It wasn’t sexual, he reasons, giving an example of how even if it was, no one batted an eye when married people did it. Shiva on the other hand explains why Preeti’s father would not be pleased by that.

The scene doesn’t just provide further context into Arjun’s frame of mind, it also sees Shiva hold him accountable for his actions and the titular character agreeing in silence that his anger issues truly are the root cause for all his issues. Given the flak the film faced through the years for promoting misogyny and not holding its lead character accountable, the deleted scene could’ve provided some balance to the film. Fans however are excited to watch the deleted scene, even if on social media, five years later.

Vijay Deverakonda’s Liger, directed by Puri Jagannadh, hit screens the same day as Arjun Reddy did, on August 25, but the film received a negative response. The actor’s fans left supportive comments under the video, stating that the deleted scene is better than his latest film. Many also left comments requesting Sandeep to release an uncut version of Arjun Reddy.
