Javed Akhtar recently purchased a 111.43 square meter apartment in Mumbai's prestigious Juhu neighborhood for ₹7.76 crore. The transaction, finalized on July 2, included a stamp duty of ₹46.02 lakh and a registration fee of ₹30,000, as per documents from SquareYards.com. Located in the Sagar Samrat Building, Juhu is renowned for its scenic beach, luxury residences, and celebrity homes, making it a coveted area in Mumbai. In 2021, Javed Akhtar had also acquired an adjacent 113.20 square meter apartment for ₹7 crore within the same cooperative housing society where he currently resides, albeit on a different floor. Famous for his iconic collaborations with Salim Khan in the 1970s, Javed Akhtar has contributed to legendary films like 'Sholay', 'Deewar', and 'Zanjeer'. Beyond his screenwriting prowess, he has scripted notable films such as 'Betaab', 'Saagar', 'Main Azaad Hoon', 'Lakshya', and 'Don: The Chase Begins'. Alongside his acclaimed career, Akhtar's recent work as a lyricist includes contributions to films like 'The Archies', 'Dunki', and 'Kho Gaye Hum Kahan'.
