We joined Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) for specially curated sessions during the first and second day of the Digital With Purpose Global Summit, where our expert speakers discussed: - Innovation Urban Transitions Mission’s Director, Giorgia Rambelli noted that there has recently been more attention to digitisation in transport and energy in cities. However, many cities that need digitisation badly, cannot afford it. - Lucas Aranguena, Global Head of Green Finance, Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (SCIB) said: "The financial system, including equity markets and the public sector, needs to scale flows into transition finance." - According to UNESCO's Helena Freitas, switching from investing in projects that are detrimental to nature to those that protect nature will be a huge financial enterprise. - Veerle Vandeweerd of UNDP talked about the opportunity to use games to teach people to be good citizens, given the staggering number of digital gamers across the world. - .PT's President of the Board of Directors, Luisa Ribeiro Lopes cautioned, “In Europe, only 69% of people have digital skills" and "12% of Portugal's population don’t have digital skills. This needs to be fixed.” We all live in a digital world making this imperative. - “After we brought AI to our company, at the beginning there was a lot of resistance. It took many seminars to convince people. And now they are excited.” Nizar Kammourie, CEO, SAWACO - Water Desalination. - “A lot of organisations are committed to net zero but they don’t measure their carbon footprint because they don’t have the tools," said Fernando Reino da Costa, CEO of Unipartner. - Radoslaw Kedzia of Huawei said: “Those companies that can adjust to new expectations and standards will prevail.” Find our more about the sessions at: https://lnkd.in/eTHhEvGX
