Workforce Planning Community and Events

We want state departments to have plenty of opportunities to discuss Workforce Planning. This can help Workforce Planners share their strategies and best practices. We have several ways for Workforce Planners to connect with one another.

Events

We schedule two kinds of events. Below, you can find a description of the events we host, as well as a calendar.​

Forums

Our forums are the main events we host quarterly throughout the year. Here's what to expect if you attend:

  • Updates from CalHR Statewide Workforce Planning

  • Updates from other teams in CalHR

  • A featured speaker and topic related to Workforce Planning

  • Reports from Workforce Planning Workgroups

  • Networking breakout rooms

Our coffee chats are an informal opportunity to connect with our team and other Workforce Planners quarterly. Each coffee chat has a featured topic and opportunity for questions and answers. ​​

We have two main community networks. You can email us at [email protected] if you would like to be added to both. Note: both are only available to CA State employees.

Teams Channel

Our Microsoft Teams Channel is a great platform to chat with other Workforce Planners in the State of California. We post regular updates and announcements here. You can use it to share and ask questions related to Workforce Planning.​

Listserv

Our Listserv is our email distribution system. We send out regular updates and event registrations through this email list. ​
