The City Clerk's office is responsible for a number of different functions both to residents as well as City Council, City Departments, Boards and Commissions.  Serving as the Official Keeper of Records, the Clerk maintains all files and permanent records such as Ordinances, Resolutions, and meeting minutes.

The City Clerk is responsible for attending all City Council meetings.  As Clerk to the Mayor and Council; the Clerk prepares and distributes agendas and maintains an accurate record of meeting proceedings.  The City Clerk Chairs the Ecorse Election Commission and serves as an Ex-officio member of the Ecorse Board of Canvassers. The Clerk provides voter registration, and serves as custodian of all contracts and deeds. The Clerk shall administer oaths as required under the City Charter or laws of the State of Michigan, and shall be custodian of the City Seal.

Currently, the City of Ecorse has 6,737 registered voters. As of January 2018, due to the CLOSING of precincts 2 and 7; the precincts have been reduced from 7 to 4 precincts and 1 Absentee (AV) Counting Board.

  4. Dog Tag Licenses
  5. Birth Certificates (Up to the year 1950)
  6. Death Certificates (Up to the year 1978)
  7. FOIA Requests
