Kangana Ranaut recently claimed that along with Khan, she is among those who achieved stardom in Bollywood. She also said that she is now keen to step out of the world of arts and contribute to the ‘’real world.’’
Kangana Ranaut believes that she and Shah Rukh Khan are the “last generation of stars” in Bollywood. In a recent event, Ranaut cleared some misconceptions about her venture into politics, and also stated that along with the ‘Pathaan’ actor, she too can be counted as the last mainstream actor to gain stardom.

The actress, who recently made her debut as a politician, was grilled about her decision to step into politics. In an interview with Times Now, the ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ star was asked if she decided to join politics due a rather dry-spell at the box-office ( Ranaut’s recent on-screen outings such as ‘Tejas’, ‘Dhakaad’ were non-starters at the box-office), to which she replied that no one, not even Bollywood’s biggest star Shah Rukh Khan is safe from BO disasters.

“There is not a single actor across the world who has never had a flop. Shah Rukh Khan had consecutive flops for ten years. I did not have a single hit for 7-8 years before Queen happened. After that there were a few good movies. Manikarnika came 3-4 years ago and it did well. My upcoming movie Emergency could be a big hit.)" she told Times Now.

She also stated that along with Khan, she is among those who achieved stardom in Bollywood. She also said that she is now keen to step out of the world of arts and contribute to the ‘’real world.’’

“Because of OTT, actors now have more opportunities to showcase their talent. We are the last generation of stars, abhi OTT pe stars nahin ban rahe hain. We are known faces, and by the grace of God, we are very much in demand. To waisa to kuch nahi hai (So, it's not like that). But it's just that I want to involve myself more with the real world than being consumed by the field of arts..” she told Times Now.

On the work front, Ranaut is busy with the political drama ‘Emergency’, in which she will be playing Indira Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India. It also marks her return to direction, five years after the period action drama ‘Manikarnika’.
