    Several multiplex chains in India have slashed ticket prices ahead of National Cinema Day on October 13. In a press release, the Multiplex Association of India (MAI), revealed that the general public would enjoy their favourite new releases in the theatres for just Rs 99, excluding recliner and premium formats.

    “It's a heartfelt 'thank you' to all the moviegoers who contributed to this success and an open invitation to those who haven't yet returned to their local cinema,” told a MAI representative to PTI.

    According to a Mint report, over 4,000 multiplex chains across the country, including big shots such as PVR, INOX, Cinepolis, Miraj, and Delite are celebrating National Cinema Day.

    Through a tweet, the social media handle of PVR Inox said that they have reduced not just the ticket prices, but also the cost of the snacks! “Join us in celebrating the enchantment of cinema on National Cinema Day! On October 13th, immerse yourself in the latest blockbuster movies at a phenomenal price of just Rs. 99. Don't miss this blockbuster deal at your nearest cinema. Plus, savour delectable food and beverages, starting at just Rs. 99, to enhance your cinematic experience,” reads the post.
