    Court allows two-hour custody parole to Engineer Rashid to take oath as MP

    Kashmiri leader Sheikh Abdul Rashid, also known as Engineer Rashid, was granted custody parole to take his oath as a Lok Sabha MP. He had sought interim bail for the oath-taking and parliamentary functions. Rashid has been in Tihar jail since 2019 under the UAPA for alleged involvement in a terror funding case.

    EAM Jaishankar reviews 'multi-faceted' comprehensive strategic partnership with UAE counterpart

    External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with his UAE counterpart Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss enhancing collaboration in various areas of the India-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership, including commercial, economic, fintech, education, and culture. They also exchanged views on regional and global issues, visited the BAPS Hindu Mandir, and participated in International Yoga Day celebrations. Jaishankar emphasized the importance of the India-UAE relationship and their ongoing cooperation.

    External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is in the UAE to discuss bilateral issues and the situation in Gaza with his counterpart Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The visit follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi's landmark visit in 2015. Both countries signed a comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA) in February 2022. The UAE hosts a 3.5 million strong and vibrant Indian community.
