    • After a brief stint with Tata Steel, Arvind Kejriwal went on to clear the civil services examination (UPSC) in 1993 and joined the Indian Revenue Service. While at IRS, he rose to the rank of joint commissioner
    • He later quit to become an activist, and won the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Emergent Leadership in 2006
    • Kejriwal gained prominence across the country when he became a part of Anna Hazare’s campaign against corruption in 2011
    • Soon after, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was formed. It contested the 2013 Delhi Assembly elections and emerged victorious

    • CBI sought 14 days of custody for Kejriwal, citing his influence and potential tampering. His lawyer questioned the need for custody, seeking disclosed evidence. The court advised a bail plea, maintaining confidentiality of the incriminating material.
    • Arvind Kejriwal’s advocate Rishikesh Kumar on June 29, informed that Arvind Kejriwal has been sent to a 14-day judicial remand.     • Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court sent Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to judicial custody till July 12, denying immediate relief to in the liquor policy case. He was sent to three-day CBI custody on Wednesday. The court had allowed his wife and lawyers to meet him daily for 30 minutes, carry his prescribed medicines and home-cooked food. The court permitted CBI to interrogate him for his formal arrest.
    • AAP leaders and workers staged a protest near the BJP's headquarters on DDU Marg demanding the release of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, currently in CBI custody related to the Delhi government's excise policy. Kejriwal had been earlier arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money-laundering case linked to the same policy, with bail granted by a trial court later stayed by the Delhi High Court.
