2 booked for attempting extortion by threatening sexual abuse case against JD(S) MLC Suraj Revanna
A JD(S) worker and his relative were booked for allegedly attempting to extort money from party MLC Suraj Revanna by threatening to file a false sexual assault case against him. The complaint was filed by Suraj Revanna's aide, Shivakumar, leading to an FIR against Chethan K S and his brother-in-law. In response, Chethan filed a police complaint accusing Suraj Revanna of sexually assaulting him. Suraj Revanna, son of Holenarasipura MLA H D Revanna and brother of former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who is in custody for alleged sexual assaults, is at the center of the controversy.

Prajwal Revanna's custody extended till June 10 in obscene video case
Former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna has been extended police custody in Bengaluru due to an obscene video scandal. Revanna, who lost the 18th Lok Sabha election to Congress' Shreyas Patel, was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) just as he arrived in Bengaluru. The SIT arrested Naveen Gowda and Chethan Kumar B C, who were missing since April 23 when election officials filed a complaint in Hassan over the distributed pen drives.

India's index of eight core sectors saw a 6.2% annual growth in April, following a 6.6% growth in March. The eight sectors had grown 4.6% in April 2023. The production of electricity, natural gas, coal, steel, refinery products, crude oil, and cement showed positive growth.
