    NLC India posts 22% rise in lignite production to 61.7 lakh tonnes in Q1

    State-owned firm NLC India Ltd reported a 22.12 per cent increase in lignite production to 61.72 lakh tonnes in the first quarter of the current fiscal, up from 50.54 LT last year. Coal production also rose by 35.27 per cent to 28.46 LT. Gross power generation grew to 7,553.62 MU, including 546.63 MU of renewable power. Market capitalisation increased by 5.28 per cent to Rs 240.15 per share.

      Coal India production rises 7% in April

      Coal India Ltd (CIL) reported a 7.3% increase in coal production to 61.8 million tonnes (MT) in April compared to 57.6 MT in the same period last year. CIL, which contributes over 80% of domestic coal production, also saw a 3.2% rise in coal offtake to 64.3 MT. Despite producing 773.6 MT in FY24, CIL fell short of its target of 780 MT.
