    Two intervention applications filed in SC seeking dismissal of pleas challenging Article 370 abrogation

    The applications have been filed by 'Youth 4 Panun Kashmir' and social activist Virinder Kaul. Both applications have been filed through advocate Siddharth Praveen Acharya. 'Youth 4 Panun Kashmir', which the plea says is a frontline worldwide movement of Kashmiri Hindu youths, has said Article 370 and Article 35-A of the Constitution had "violated" the basic structure of the Constitution as it never recognised the supremacy of the Indian Constitution.

    Bill for nomination of 2 Kashmiri migrants, 1 displaced PoK resident to J-K assembly introduced in Lok Sabha

    A bill to nominate two members from the Kashmiri migrant community and one member from the displaced persons from Pakistan occupied Kashmir to the legislative assembly of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir was introduced in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. The bill provides for representation of Kashmiri migrants, displaced persons, and Scheduled Tribes in the legislative assembly of Jammu and Kashmir to preserve their political rights as well as their overall social and economic development. The delimitation commission has recommended for representation of communities by way of nomination in the legislative assembly of Jammu and Kashmir.

    Two local LeT militants carried out attack on non-local labourers: Kashmir police

    Two Lashkar-e-Taiba militants are believed to have carried out an attack on three non-local labourers in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir. The police have launched raids to catch the attackers, while associates have already been taken into custody. The state government has increased security in areas populated by non-locals, in case of further attacks.

    The Kashmiri Pandit Sangharsh Samiti (KPSS) on Monday requested the prime minister and home minister to replace J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha as he has failed to stop the targeted killing of Pandits and to launch operations against the militants and their supporters.
