    Maharashtra assembly elections: The National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) has approved a working capital loan of Rs 1,898 crore to the Maharashtra government to support 13 struggling sugar mills. Five of these mills are linked to Ajit Pawar's NCP politicians, and five are associated with BJP leaders. The loan is provided ahead of the Maharashtra assembly elections.

    Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar announced tax reductions on petrol and diesel in Mumbai, lowering diesel prices by 2 rupees per litre and petrol by 65 paise per litre. The state budget also includes provisions such as free gas cylinders under the CM Anna Chhatra Yojana, bonuses for cotton and soybean farmers, and increased compensation for deaths caused by animal attacks to Rs 25 lakhs

    Oppn alliance boycotts CM's tea party on eve of Maharashtra monsoon session

    Quota issue solution will be found through consensus: BJP leader Bawankule

    Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule has stated that the Mahayuti government is positive about finding a consensus solution to the reservation-related demands of the Marathas and Other Backward Classes (OBCs). This comes after activists Laxman Hake and Navnath Waghmare ended their hunger strike following a meeting with a government delegation. The government's stand is that the Maratha community should receive reservation without affecting the existing OBC quota, aiming to avoid confrontation between the two groups.

    Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde vows to prevent caste tensions amid quota row

    Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde assured that the government will prevent caste tension amid Marathas and OBCs' reservations dispute. OBC activist Laxman Hake and others ended their fast after government intervention. An all-party meeting is planned in the upcoming monsoon session to address extending reservations to Maratha descendants with Kunbi caste certificates. The government is pro-farmer and denies making decisions against their interests, contrasting earlier accusations by Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
