Western disturbances bring hailstorm & rainfall in Rajasthan

With prevailing western disturbances and upper air cyclonic circulation, some places witnessed mild showers and hailstorms. Chhatargarh (Bikaner) received highest rainfall. Karauli remained coldest with 9.2° Celsius. Weather affected crops, vegetables. Mercury will rise till Feb 29. March 1 brings dust storms, mercury rise. Majority places had 10.2°C to 15.6°C. Jaipur had cloudy morning, 14.8°C and 25.8°C afternoon.

JAIPUR: With prevailing western disturbances and upper air cyclonic circulation, some places in the state witnessed mild showers and hailstorms on Tuesday.
The rainfall guided mercury to take an upward swing across the state. Chhatargarh (Bikaner) received a rainfall of 20 mm which was highest in the state. Chhatargarh (Bikaner) was followed by Pilani where a rainfall of 10.1 mm of rainfall was witnessed.
Also, a rainfall of 5 mm to 2 mm was reported at several places in Bikaner, Churu, Sriganganagar, Sikar and Jhunjhunu districts.
On the other hand, Karauli remained coldest in the state where a minimum temperature of 9.2° Celsius was recorded. The Met office further stated that from Wednesday mainly clear sky would be witnessed and mercury will take an upward swing till February 29. However, from March 1, a fresh spell of western disturbances is likely to bring hailstorm, rainfall and dust storms at several places in the northern and western parts of the state.
Except Karauli, majority of the places witnessed a minimum temperature between 10.2°Celsius to 15.6° Celsius.
People in Jaipur woke up to a cloudy morning when a minimum temperature of 14.8°Celsius was recorded. It was followed by an afternoon with a maximum temperature of 25.8°Celsius.
The Met office said that despite rainfall at many places in the state, the majority of the places witnessed a rise of 3 to 5°Celsius.

During early morning and late evening hours, nip in the air was witnessed. Dungarpur and Jalore remained hottest in the state where a maximum temperature of 30.2°Celsius was witnessed.
The abrupt change in the weather conditions have also affected the harvested crop of mustard kept lying in the farms. Also it has affected the crop of various vegetables due to which the supply of vegetables has been affected.
The Met office further stated that from March 6 onwards majority of the places will witness rise in the maximum and minimum temperatures. The average maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 34.0 and 18.0°Celsius respectively from March 6 onwards.
In its forecast, the Met office stated that mercury will continue to take an upward swing in the next 24 hours.
