Kochi: Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Nedumbassery organ trade case arrested one more person connected to the racket on Friday.
Police sources said the arrested has been identified as Sajith Shyam of Edathala. He was picked up from near Kalamassery on Thursday after finding bank transactions linking him to the crime. Police recorded his arrest after questioning him on Friday.
According to sources, another key conspirator is under police radar.
Police sources said preliminary investigations indicated that donors and recipients may have got in touch with the racket through social media.
“A quick search on the internet shows social media posts about such deals. That is apart from what would be going on in the dark net…,” said a source.
Officials said they also suspect that more members of the racket are in Iran.
“Sabith Nasar is a key accused. However, the group has associates in Iran. A thorough probe is on into all links of the racket,” said an official source.
