Son sacked days after Baba quits Congress
Mumbai: A fortnight after former minister Baba Siddique quit the Congress, the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) led by Srinivas B V on Wednesday sacked his son, Mumbai Youth Congress chief Zeeshan.
IYC appointed Akhilesh Singh in his place. Sufiyan Mohsin Haider was appointed working president.
Zeeshan said on X: “88517 youth congress members voted to me to become the president of Mumbai Youth Congress, which is the highest number in the history of Mumbai Congress.This is not a nominated post, after giving 12 yeas to the organization, having fought three elections, it is unfortunate that I have no received any official intimation from the party. I learnt it from the social media. I will soon interact with the media to present my case.”
Zeeshan is expected to follow Baba into the NCP.
