City school wins 6th inter-school sports title

City school wins 6th inter-school sports title
NAVI MUMBAI: Ryan International School, Sanpada retained the overall championship title for the sixth consecutive year in the inter-school sports festival organized by Acres Club. The school’s students won most of the titles in bowling, basketball, table tennis, tennis, swimming, carom, chess, squash and billiards among contenders from 60-odd schools in Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
In bowling, Mukund Madane bagged a gold medal in the under-12 boys’ group while Abhay Gawade won the bronze in the under-14 group.
In basketball, the under-14 girls’ team comprising Rachita Gupte, Purva Bhoir, Nishita Gupta, Rashi Singh, Deeksha Kaushik, Netra Gangurde, Shambhavi Gupta, Miral Patil bagged the silver medal. In carom, Ashish Waghmare and Sidharth Chavan won the gold, Om Alim and Abhishek Waghmare won the silver and Naman Jain won the bronze medal.
Himanshu Rajput won the silver in chess and Sambhav Choudhary won a silver in table tennis. Akash Subramaniam claimed a gold in tennis as Ketan Pawnarkar won the bronze in squash. In swimming, the students dominated the show by clinching many medals. Winners included Swara Yadav, Vidhi Parmar, Aryan Desai, Sanket Karvade, Vatsal Parmar and Rajveer Motta.
