Thej helms film about a girls’ football team

Actor, director and producer Thej R of Ramachari 2.0-fame, is digging deep into a sports drama titled Dude, about a girl’s football team. Rangayana Raghu is the coach in the film set to go on floors soon.
Thej helms the project, and will also be seen in an important role. “The football craze is growing in Karnataka. Predictably, the low success at the box office of this genre, has left it relatively untouched.That enticed me to take up the sports drama at a time when everyone is talking about women’s empowerment. The film has girls from different strata of society coming together to play football – a dream for all,” says Thej.
“Sports is at its best when emotions take over. Rangayana Raghu’s role will surprise people. He lies as a coach, but later inspires the team to victory, and this leaves everyone teary-eyed. His role makes people cry, and laugh,” he reveals.
