Veteran actor Ananth Nag felicitated in Mangaluru

Veteran actor and thespian Ananth Nag went down memory lane on Monday evening in a city that he’s been long fond of: Mangaluru. The senior actor who was accompanied by wife Gayatri, was felicitated for his contribution of 50 years to the industry and the event also happened to co-incide with his birthday eve.
The celebrations began with the actor being seated in a mega silver-coloured chariot with his wife, while being showered with flowers.Huli vesha dancers led the procession, while drums and trumpets played alongside. Fans thronged the streets as the actor was taken to another venue in the city where a formal event was held. Taking to the stage, Ananth Nag fondly recollected his association with the Karavali region. “My father was the supervisor of a mutt in Shirali close to Bhatkal and I had even studied in Udupi for two years. We would often visit Mangaluru, so I’ve spent a lot of my childhood in these regions,” shared the actor. He went on to sing “Bhagyada Laxmi Baramma,” which drew much applause from the audience. The actor was felicitated in a traditional Karavali setting that also saw Rishab Shetty in attendance.
