When you spread happiness, it reflects on the screen too: Ganesh

When you spread happiness, it reflects on the screen too: Ganesh
Golden Star Ganesh, who is still basking in the success of Gaalipata 2, is hopeful about delivering another blockbuster and ending the year with a bang
Circa 2002, Ganesh made his acting debut with an uncredited role in the film, Tapori. Exactly four years later, in 2006, his fortunes turned when he debuted as the lead actor and delivered back-to back hit films – Chellata and Mungaru Male.
In fact, Mungaru Male was the highest-grossing film (`70.7 cr) for almost a decade.
Two decades and 39 films later, Golden Star Ganesh says he still feels a little nervous on the sets of his films.
“Since the character is still not exposed to the camera, I feel a little nervous about portraying that character on the first day of the shoot,” Ganesh
confesses.
Speaking about his 39th film, Tribble Riding, which is releasing in theatres this Friday, Ganesh says, “It is a fun-filled family entertainer, spun in a commercial set-up. There’s tons of fun, comedy, suspense and, of course, heartbreak. You can see a jovial, romantic, emotional Ganesh, and oh, there’s some action too!”
Ask him about the title and what it reminds him of and Ganesh says, “Those carefree, golden days of college – the fun, the triple rides, getting caught by the traffic police, falling down from the bike.”

The film has three leading ladies – Aditi Prabhudeva, Megha Shetty and Rachana Inder – who play Ramya, Rakshita and Radhika respectively. “And the director has just named me Ram,” says a rather tickled Ganesh.
“The names were the director’s idea. There’s also a Rashmika, but we have kept her identity under wraps,” he says.
Apart from the three lead actresses, there’s also an ensemble cast.
The cast of the film includes Rangayana Raghu, Sadhu Kokila, Ravishankar, Ravishankar Gowda, Anirudh Jatkar, Shobhraj and Sharath Lohitashwa among others.
“When there is an ensemble, every actor will try to give out their best and this, in turn, helps the film. Every actor will look forward to delivering their best performance to stand out. In Tribble Riding, the characters have been written very naturally into the script and though there are so many characters, it doesn’t feel forced at all! Director Mahesh should be given absolute credit for bringing such a big cast together and making us all work together,” Ganesh says.
“Mahesh approached me with two scripts and I liked Tribble Riding. Later, when he came up with the screenplay, I really liked it a lot and I gave a nod,” Ganesh adds.
Telling us about his favourite part of the film, Ganesh says, “The film has an unusual climax. With many special appearances, it will be a laughter riot. The film starts revealing itself in the last 15 minutes. More than the dialogues, we have stressed on the fun element. One can get to see a ‘hatke approach’ to the climax. Audience will walk out of the theatres, laughing. Another favourite part is the interval block where we have placed a very big twist. Even I did not expecting it to come out so well.”
Ganesh is known for keeping the sets lively with his jokes. “It takes only one small thing to ruin your day. But when you spread happiness, especially on the sets, it reflects on the screen too! To be honest, there is also a selfish reason behind that! The whole team gets credit when the film looks good, but the hero gets some extra credit (laughs),” Ganesh adds. “I make films for a family audience. So when I choose a script, I make sure that I do not break my fans’ trust. My job is to entertain the audience and they will agree with me on November 25,” the actor concludes.
