It was a welcome break to play a psychologist, says Ganesh Venkatram
The last one week has been extremely hectic for actor Ganesh Venkatram. The actor has been working until the wee hours of morning shooting in the misty mountains of Dehradun, Uttarakhand, for his upcoming film, Un Paarvaiyil.
“I am really glad to be back on the sets after the lull last year due to the coronavirus-induced lockdown. We have been shooting until 2am. For the first few days, it was really difficult getting used to the cold climes.
But now, the entire team is accustomed to the weather. We will be shooting until mid-March here,” he says.
Un Paarvaiyil is directed by cinematographer-turned-director Kabir Lal, who had handled the cinematography for films like Taal, Pardes and Yaadein. Parvati plays the female lead in it. Interestingly, this is Kabir Lal’s directorial debut. “For someone who has predominantly done action films so far, it is a welcome break to play a psychologist. I have been waiting to play a layered character like this for a long time. My character, Krish, is an adept psychologist. Before I embarked on playing this character, I worked on the mannerisms. I had to have the serious look of a psychologist, but also be romantic at the same time. It’s quite interesting bringing both layers into one.”
Talking about how he came on board, Ganesh says, “When Kabir sir narrated the script to me, I was hooked instantly. I found the plot very gripping. Being a cinematographer, Kabir sir tries to bring the mood of the story through the visuals itself. It has been a great experience working with my co-star Parvati as well. Nizhalgal Ravi sir, too, joined the sets recently.” The film is expected to hit screens in June.
