RK Suresh: Bala sir is the main reason for 'Visithiran'; he asked me to play the lead

RK Suresh, who started his cinema journey as an antagonist, takes up the challenges thrown over and is currently playing the leading roles in a couple of films. Now, in an exclusive interview with ETimes, RK Suresh opens about 'Valimai action sequences, 'Visithiran' fitness stories, first choices, and more.
RK Suresh shares some secrets about his next film 'Visithiran', which is the Tamil remake of the Malayalam film 'Joseph' and shared, "Bala sir is the main reason for 'Visithiran', and he opted for the same director to maintain the reality.Initially, Vijay Sethupathi, Sasikumar and Madhavan were the first choices to play the lead role. But Bala sir, who wishes to see my success, asked me to do the lead role."
When asked about the making of 'Visithiran', RK Suresh revealed, "Padma Kumar is an experienced director, and working with him was so easy for me. Bala sir was surprised to see mewith a belly at the shooting spot after two months. Poorna has done an extraordinary performance in the film, while Madhu Shalini, Bucks aka Bagavathi Perumal have also played neat roles."
Shedding some light on the release of the film, the actor said that the makers are yet to decide on the same. "Bala sir has to decide on the film's release, and there are several offers from OTT platforms. We have added some corrections in the remake suiting Tamil audience, however songs will be released soon," clears Suresh. RK Suresh will be seen in a new avatar in the film as he has worked on his fitness for this film. Asked about his fitness, the actor shared, "I easily gained several kilos when the director asked me, but it was so difficult when I tried to reduce the weight. However, I fought hard and reduced my belly to become super fit again for my role in the film."
