To be working with Hansika is a very big thing for me: Pallak Lalwani
While she is awaiting the release of her debut film, Kuppathu Raja, Pallak Lalwani has completed the shoot of Sixer with Vaibhav Reddy, and is all set to begin work on Partner, in which she is one of the leads along with Aadhi and Hansika.
“I have lived in Mumbai all my life. When I was doing my second year in college, I got an offer to do a Telugu film, and I have now completed three films in Tollywood.
I have even picked up the language. It is though my Telugu films that I got my first Tamil offer,” says the actress.
In Kuppathu Raja, she plays a north Madras girl. “She is a very simple girl who works in a factory. It is not a glam-doll role. It wasn’t easy for me because I was playing a very local girl in my very first Tamil film. It was extremely challenging, but that was the best part of it because I was exploring a side that was new to me. By the time we were wrapping up the shoot, I had started to enjoy the role,” discloses Pallak, who admits that she had difficulty in following the language initially. “Given that the north Madras dialect is not the way people usually speak, I was confused with the Tamil the unit was speaking on camera and off it. Thankfully, director Baba Baskar guided me with the language. Since the two of us know Telugu, it made communication easier,” she adds.
She will be seen as a journalist in Sixer, and says her look will be quite a contrast from her debut film. “It is not a regular love story,” she assures. The actress reveals that she learnt to ride a bike for this film. “But unfortunately, there were some changes made in the script, so they did not use that. Still, I got to do stunts by myself for the first time in my career,” she says.
Pallak will be paired opposite Aadhi in Partner. But what’s got her excited about this film is that she will be sharing screen space with Hansika, and will be shooting with her right on the first day of the shoot. “I’ve grown up watching Hansika and to be working with her is a very big thing for me. We both are Sindhi, and are from Mumbai. She is basically my role model. The way she has shaped her career inspires me,” Pallak gushes.
