Since his debut film ‘Mannemlo Monagadu’ in 1986, Brahmaji has always been busy as a character artist in Telugu cinema. In 2020, he was seen in all big releases which include Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Sarileru Neekevvaru, Bheeshma and HIT. The 55-year-old actor has played a crucial role in Panja Vaisshnav Tej’s debut film ‘Uppena’ and recently, he was seen dubbing for his part. Sharing a picture of debutante director Buchi Babu Sana who can be seen in face shield and a mask, Brahmaji wrote on Twitter that the pic shows the fearsome reaction of Buchi Babu in the dubbing studio amid corona scare.

Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi’s nephew Panja Vaisshnav Tej will be introduced as a protagonist with Uppena. The rustic actioner was initially scheduled for a release on April 2, however, due to coronavirus outbreak and the lockdown in the country, the film has been postponed and the new date will be out soon. Speculations are rife that the makers are contemplating to head for OTT.

Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi is playing the key role of Rayanam in the film. In the first look posters, the 42-year-old actor looked intense and fierce, and according to sources, he is playing the leading lady’s father in the film.

Starring Krithi Shetty as the female lead, Uppena showcases Vaisshnav Tej in the role of a young fisherman. Bankrolled by popular filmmaker Sukumar in association with Mythri Movie Makers, the film is directed by Buchi Babu Sana with music composed by Devi Sri Prasad. Both the lyrical videos of Nee Kannu Neeli Samudram and Dhak Dhak received a fabulous response from the listeners.
