Hailing from Hyderabad, Mahaboob Basha grew up with a singular dream: To become an actor. At just 14 years old, he made his debut, captivating audiences with his comedic timing and distinctive dialogue delivery. With a career spanning 150 Telugu films, Basha’s journey is a testament to his talent. Reminiscing on his journey, he expressed, “I got my first film offer when I was in 7th class with the film Keka (2008), directed by Teja.
However, my real breakthrough came with Trinadh Rao’s Memu Vayasuku Vacham in 2012, where I portrayed the role of the protagonist’s friend. Since then, I’ve taken on nearly 40 roles as the hero’s companion and featured in prominent movies such as Cinema Chupistha Mava, Nenu Local, Sita, Disco Raja, and Karthikeya 2.”
Basha expresses his gratitude towards director Karthik Ghattamaneni for recognising his potential as an antagonist. Reflecting on his journey from comedian to playing villainous yet co medic roles, he shared, “Being chosen by Karthik Ghattamaneni for the role of a comedy villain in Eagle marked a turning point in my career. It reshaped my path for the better. Subsequently, I was offered a similar role in Market Mahalakshmi, which I thoroughly enjoyed.”
About his upcoming films, the actor enthusiastically shares, “I’m gearing up to work on the pan-Indian film Swayambhu with Nikhil Siddhartha, as well as Teja Sajja’s Mirai, along with a slate of other exciting projects.”
