NEW DELHI: Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday filed a fresh complaint against Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal for not responding to its summonses in a money laundering investigation. A day later, court asked the Delhi CM to appear on March 16.
The matter will be heard on Thursday by ACMM Divya Malhotra. According to PTI, the latest complaint relates to Kejriwal's failure to honor summonses numbered 4 to 8.
Previously, ED had sought Kejriwal's prosecution for ignoring the first three summonses in connection with the money laundering probe linked to the Delhi excise policy. The court has scheduled a hearing for this on March 16.
Kejriwal, 55, had deemed all eight ED summonses as 'illegal' and had informed the agency that he could be questioned via video conferencing after March 12.
ED has lodged the fresh complaint under section 174 IPC (non-attendance in obedience to an order from a public servant) along with section 63(4) of the PMLA, which pertains to intentional disobedience of any direction.
