🌟 Today, ExxonMobil Public & Government Affairs colleagues rolled-up their sleeves at the Montgomery County Food Bank. Over three hours, the team sorted and packed enough food for 13,950 meals to help local families in need! 💪 The food bank serves an average of 80,000 individuals facing hunger each month, distributing 8 million nutritious meals in 2023! Bringing carbon capture and storage to summer camp ⛺️! More than 1,300 talented middle school and high school students in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi recently took part in STEM summer camps supported by ExxonMobil. They learned about the science behind #CCS, an important tool for fighting #climatechange. Teaming up with Rice University’s Tapia Center for the 9th consecutive year, we aim to develop the energy leaders of tomorrow by igniting a passion for science, technology, engineering, and math – particularly among students from underrepresented backgrounds. This year, the program expanded to Jackson State University in Mississippi and Southern University in Louisiana, two of the nation’s largest Historically Black Colleges and Universities. We also offered our #STEM camp curriculum to teachers in Louisiana’s Ascension Parish so they can add it to their curriculum. Viva STEM en Mexico! Recently, 21 Mexican students who earned the ExxonMobil and Mexico Lubricants Distributors network scholarship visited our campus in Houston, Texas. This scholarship allowed STEM college students to spend three weeks at the University of Texas at Dallas for Big Data and Artificial Intelligence lectures. 🤖 ExxonMobil Mexico and Mobil jointly made a $110,000 contribution to support this year’s program in collaboration with COMEXUS, aiming to develop students’ leadership and #STEM skills. During the visit, the students attended lectures on the ExxonMobil Foundation, Low Carbon Solutions, and the ExxonMobil Technology and Engineering Company. A thank you through art! 🖼️ Students from the Step by Step Centre for Persons with Disabilities in Doha presented ExxonMobil Qatar with two paintings: 🌕 “The Moon,” depicts the beautiful Qatari desert, showcasing its rich culture and pays tribute to ExxonMobil’s contributions to the country’s heritage. ☀️ “The Sun” was created to convey the radiance of the Corniche in Doha, an iconic attraction near the waterfront and the close relationship between marine life, energy and the vibrant city. Step by Step specializes in academic and therapeutic intervention for special needs students, ages 3 to 25. The Centre is dedicated to match each child’s needs while also supporting their parents and caregivers. ExxonMobil Qatar has been a proud partner with Step by Step since 2019.
