Spanish rental company Record Go has been in operation for more than 20 years. It has offices at the main tourist destinations in Spain, Greece, Italy, and Portugal.
With a low customer score of 57% and a troubling two-star customer service rating, we’d steer clear of Record Go.

Record Go | No | 57% |
Customer score is based on a combination of overall satisfaction and how likely people are to recommend the company
Record Go may have been in business for more than 20 years, but it doesn’t appear to have got the hang of accurately representing its service to customers. It got a poor two-star rating in our ‘description matching reality’ category.
Perhaps this was down to the mediocre state of its fleet. Several customers told us that cars were dirty, scraped and dented. One even told us ‘the car stank of cigarette smoke. It was disgusting.'
Its two-star customer service rating is a red flag. We received reports of long queues at poorly staffed rental desks, and some readers told us that they were pressure-sold insurance. One reader told us they had an unexplained £30 taken from their card after they had returned home.
The fuel policy also proved onerous, as one reader described: ‘The car needs to be returned full of fuel, you must use a petrol station within 10km of its office, and we were told we needed to leave a receipt in the car to prove we had done this. We struggled to find a petrol station that close that was open at 5am.’
If you want to use an independent Spanish company, Centauro is a far better bet.
No. Record Go received one of the lowest customer scores in our survey and just two stars for its customer service.
