Stock market update: IT shares mixed; Infosys rises 2%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading on a mixed note in Thursday's morning session.

Shares of Infosys (up 1.5 per cent) , Hexaware Technologies (up 1.07 per cent) , HCL Technologies (up 0.91 per cent) , Wipro (up 0.81 per cent) , Tata Elxsi (up 0.4 per cent) and Tata Consultancy (up 0.37 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Mindtree (down 0.97 per cent) , Just Dial (down 0.73 per cent) , Tech Mahindra (down 0.6 per cent) and NIIT Technologies (down 0.48 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty IT index was trading 0.58 per cent up at 16428.75 around 10:08 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 58.70 points at 12165.6 , while the BSE Sensex was up 207.51 points at 41322.89 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Oil Corp, Zee Ent., RBL Bank Ltd., Axis Bank, Tata Motors, SBI and PFC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
