NEW DELHI: Strong F&O rollovers to August series hints at relatively lesser volatility for the benchmark indices ahead on Thursday, but big earnings should rule the market through the day.

Let's check out what all might matter to Dalal Street during the day:

Singapore trading sets stage for positive start
Nifty futures on the Singapore Stock Exchange traded 35 points, or 0.35 per cent, higher at 11,176.50, indicating a positive start for the Nifty50.

Tech view: Nifty50 to find support at 11,100
Analysts believe the 11,100 level should act as immediate support for the index now. The January high of 11,171, also the all-time high for the index, may keep posing an immediate hurdle, they said.

    Market-wide F&O rollovers at 63%
The market-wide rollovers till Wednesday stood at 63 per cent against 59 per cent in the last three F&O series. Nifty futures rollover stood at 51per cent against 43 per cent in the last three series. "High rollover coupled with increasing roll spreads is reflective of the fact that expiry specific volatility is likely to be subdued," Edelweiss Securities said.

Asian shares off to positive start
Asian stocks edged higher on Thursday, taking comfort from gains on Wall Street after US President Donald Trump and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker agreed to work toward eliminating trade barriers on industrial goods, Reuters reported. MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was up 0.2 per cent. Australian shares fell 0.4 per cent and Japan's Nikkei stock index was 0.2 per cent lower.

Crude prices tick up, gold up
US crude futures ticked up 0.4 percent at $69.54 a barrel. Brent crude LCOc1 was 0.9 per cent higher at $74.61 per barrel. Gold moved slightly higher as the dollar eased. Spot gold globally was traded at $1,233.01 per ounce, the Reuters report suggested.
